There should be no difference between someone saying that they follow the sunnah (Sunni) and someone who has that they follow the reformist Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahab who lived over 250 years ago and tried to call Muslims back to the correct aqeedah after many had strayed off into the acts of grave worship and saint worship (Wahabi).
But unfortunately today, many Muslims who do not even know the origin of either name or purpose of their respective groups, have gone off into areas of name calling and divisions which can only attributed to the works of shayton and furthered on by ignorance and stupidity.
