Now as regards your question:
extremism and too much fighting about who is right?
Bismillah Al Hamdulilah was Salat wa Salam ala rasoolulah. Maa baad:
Allahu Alim.
In the Name of Allah, I praise Allah and thank Him and ask for His Peace and Prayers upon Muhammad, and all of the prophets of Allah, ameen. It is only Allah Who has all the Knowledge, and we only have what He might give us.

Of course extremism is not a part of Islam. Our beloved prophet, peace be upon him, said that we were the "Ummatan wasitan." (people of the middle path). So, if a person goes extreme and leaves the main body of Islam they are in the wrong. You will hear many distressing things if you get away from the main group of Muslims. Even in the distinguished work of our beloved Jammat tableegh we find some people who are going too far in extremes. Some will tell others that even their prayer does not count without a cap on their head.

Enough of the problem. What is the solution?

All of us must go back to the basic sources of Islam and begin to re-study rather than to re-think Islam. We must look to the understandings of the early Muslims, the sahabee and tabee and tabee tabeein. We need to know the meanings of the Quran and the understandings of the authentic Sunnah of the prophet, peace be upon him.
And most important we must be in good with Allah Subhannah wa Ta'ala. If He will guide us then who is there to misguide us? I ask you.

The big problem is ourselves. We do not take the time to learn. We do not take time to listen and we are not good with Allah.

So, this is now one of our tests in the Last Days.
